Jury Returns Defense Verdict in Favor of Patterson Law Firm’s Client in Clay County Jury Trial

Patterson Law Firm represented the owner/landlord of an apartment building located in Spencer, Iowa.  The client was sued by a tenant who fell in a common area of the rental unit.  The tenant’s injuries included a femur fracture (surgically repaired), a fractured wrist (surgically repaired), and a fractured ankle.  The tenant’s pre-suit demand was $500,000, and the pre-suit offer was $0. 

The case proceeded to a jury trial in Clay County, Iowa. The jury ultimately returned a verdict in favor of the Firm’s client, the defendant, finding no negligence on the part of the defendant.  This case was tried by attorney Doug Haag.
