MICHAEL F. LACEY, JR. MICHAEL F. LACEY, JR. was born in Boone, Iowa on June 4, 1943. He attended Iowa State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in 1966, Golden Gate University, where he received his M.B.A. in 1971, and Drake University Law School where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1976. Mike was a member of the United States Air Force from 1967 until 1973. He joined the Patterson Firm as a law clerk in 1973, and as a lawyer in 1976. Mike is a member of the Polk County, Iowa State and American Bar Associations as well as the Association of Trial Lawyers of Iowa, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American Academy of ADR Attorneys and the American Arbitration Association. Mike has a general practice including but not limited to trial law and personal injury law. He has been trained as a mediator and has actively practiced in the area of arbitration since 1978, and in mediation since 1992. Mike has been involved in numerous civic and community organizations and has served as president of many, including the Easter Seal Society of Iowa, the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Des Moines, the Des Moines Girls Softball League, the General Horner Chapter of the Air Force Association, the AIB Court Reporter Advisory Committee and the Greater Des Moines Cyclone Club. He is also active in his church, having served on the parish council and building committees. Mike has received the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
