DOUGLAS A. HAAG DOUGLAS A. HAAG was born in Cokato, Minnesota, on October 11, 1952. He attended Mankato State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, and Drake University Law School, where he received his Juris Doctorate, with honors, in 1979. Doug is a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society and the Order of the Coif. He was a teaching assistant at Drake University Law School in the areas of research and writing. Doug joined the Patterson Firm as a clerk in 1977, and as a lawyer in 1979. Doug is a member of the Polk County, Iowa State and American Bar Associations, as well as the Defense Research Institute. He practices primarily in insurance law. Doug has prosecuted a number of appeals to the Iowa Supreme Court on behalf of insurance companies which have resulted in favorable rulings for our clients, having to do with UM/UIM coverage, pollution coverage, bad faith claims, intentional acts, coverage priority, duty to defend and other coverage issues.
